Making A Difference |
If you really want to make a difference in life you really need to have something to offer combined with a willingness to help. That "something to offer" may be as simple as a caring listening ear or as complex as professional medical skills. The willingness to help may result from a simple empathy towards those in need, or a deep gratitude to God for what He's already done for us. Ideally, the purest motivation for helping others is the latter: Acknowledging that God has reached out to us in our sin and redeemed us from a lost and dying world and given us a hope for life everlasting. Such awareness should motivate us to respond with an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards those in need around us—not to earn God's favor, but simply out of our gratitude towards Him!
